Breaking Devil’s Advocate Programming

When faced with a situation or choice, we were taught to play devil’s advocate, we ask ourselves: “What’s the worst that could happen?!?” Then we allow our creative imagination to run wild, but not in every direction; no, just in that one direction. We give our mind the command to create all the ways our situation could go in non-positive/non-productive ways, in fact, we reinforce the most outlandish and irrational thoughts about how a scenario could go awry and then allow spin offs of those variations to play out in our headspace. I was really awesome at this, I could find holes and loops in every choice, decision and scenario, I even remember being taught this skill in school. The concept was to test the strength of an idea by seeing if we could break it or punch holes in it. This is a type of programming or human conditioning, which has been taught and reinforced by everyone in our environment from an early age. We were even taught to display judgement towards certain outcomes…judgement is another type of programming.
